Donald Brokaw, Jr., 62, of Kendricks Rd., Sherburne, NY, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at UHS/Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.
He was born December 28, 1955 in Suffern, NY, a son of Donald, Sr. and Alma Pauls Brokaw and received his education in local schools. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1973-74. He married Charlotte Broniszewski. Don worked in environmental construction for various companies, including Robert Adsit in Sherburne. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and was a NY Giants fan. He loved his pets, his dog, Smiley, and his cat, Winky.
Surviving are his mother, Alma of Sherburne; daughter, Kylee Wilcox of Sidney; sisters, Donna Brokaw-Cummings (Daniel) of Suffolk, NY; and Catherine Brokaw of Rochester; two grandchildren and several nephews. He was predeceased by his father and a daughter, Heidee.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 17, 2018 at West Hill Cemetery, Route 80, Sherburne.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to All Animals Matter, PO Box 369, Oxford, NY 13830; or to 19 Ward Community Cats, 216 Thurston Rd., Rochester, NY 14619.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY.
