Douglas D. Crosby, 66, of Madison Lane, passed away on November 1, 2022 at Oneida Healthcare. He was born on May 25, 1956 in Norwich, to the late Russell and Virginia Slinsky Crosby and he was raised by Ruth Stapleton. He was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville Central School District and served his country in the US Air Force. On October 19, 1985, in Sherburne, Douglas was united in marriage to Cindy Brazee.

He was of the Baptist faith. Doug worked as a truck driver, later the New York State Department of Corrections, Marcy, for 8 years, as a corrections officer. He and Cindy also operated Crosby’s Café in Ilion. He enjoyed restoring old homes and bought and sold many cars, including muscle cars.

Douglas is survived by his wife; Cindy, children; Darin (Sarah) Fitch of Oneida, Shanon (Ryan) Percival of North Norwich, Brandon Crosby (Lacey Barton) of Earlville, grandchildren; Madison and Maxwell Fitch, Landon Thayer, Mackenzie and Ryan Percival and Avalynn Crosby, he is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services in the Earlville Cemetery will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Following the graveside services, there will be a gathering at the Earlville American Legion, 113 N. Main St., Earlville, NY 13332.  There will be no calling hours.

Donations in Douglas’s memory can be made to Arthritis Foundation, 5858 E. Molloy Rd., Syracuse, NY 13211.
