SHERBURNE:

Douglas P. Holt, 60, of Lawrence-Hunsicker Rd., passed away Friday November 11, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
He was born March 23, 1951 in Oxford a son of Dana and Nancy (Lee) Holt. He graduated from Sherburne-Earlville High School Class of 1969 and Morrisville Ag. & Tech. College in 1972. On May 23, 1987 in Gilbertsville he was united in marriage to the former Linda Stensland. Doug was a dairy farmer and owned/operated the Happy Valley Farm. He will be missed by all who came in contact with him. Doug loved his family and was proud of the work the boys have done on the farm.
Surviving are his wife Linda; two sons, Stephen and Ryan Holt of Sherburne; his parents, Dana and Nancy Holt of Sherburne; his father in law and mother in law Mike and Pat Stensland of Gilbertsville; two sisters and brothers in law Linda and Robert Hoag and Susan and Lyle Cline of Norwich; his brother and sister in law Michael and Kathie Holt of Sherburne. Also surviving are his sisters in law and brothers in law, Michele and John Birdsall, Diane Stensland and Michael and Bobbi Stensland all of Gilbertsville. His nieces and nephews, Gretchen Hoag, Lauren and Rachael Morrison of Norwich; Heather and Cole Covington, Blake Stensland, Courtney Birdsall, Lilly and Ivy Stensland all of Gilbertsville, Joseph Melita of Alexandria, VA and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 12:00 noon from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call Tuesday November 15, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
