Elizabeth C. Robinson, 103, of Iowa City, IA, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020.
She was born December 24, 1916 in Sherburne, NY, a daughter of Roy and Julia Sterling Cashman. She was a graduate of Sherburne High School in 1933 and attended Cortland College. During World War II she worked at Scintilla in Sidney, NY inspecting jet engines. On October 15, 1947, Elizabeth married George G. Robinson in Sherburne. He predeceased her on October 12, 1968. A loving mother of five children, Elizabeth devoted her life to caring for her family. She was also a private duty caregiver for many years.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Sherburne; the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); the Sherburne Grange and the Home Bureau.
Surviving are her children, John Blair of Ithaca; Greg and Leslie Robinson of Waterloo; Glenn and Maureen Robinson of Erieville; Ann and Jai Misir of Niskayuna; Sally and George Rickey of Iowa City, IA; a special niece, Sue Buckley of Sherburne; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Wilcox.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Church of the Epiphany, Classic St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Friday from 5-7pm.
