Ella I. Tallman, 85, of Route 26, Eaton, NY, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Center in New Hartford.
She was born February 24, 1930 in Madison, a daughter of Emery and Datey Marris Neff and received her education in local schools. On February 28, 1948, Ella married James Leland who predeceased her on March 30, 1976. Ella had worked as a sewing machine operator at the Mill in Oriskany Falls. She pursued many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, bowling in Waterville and Oriskany Falls, and golfing at Barker Brook. She was a member of the Oriskany Falls and Bridgewater seniors groups. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ella is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Ellen and Stuart Turner of Oriskany Falls; Barbara and Mike Sweeney of Knoxville, TN; Michelle and Michael Daly of New Hartford; a son, James S. Tallman of Alachua, FL; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven siblings.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family.
