George T. Fearon

George T. Fearon, 82, of North St., Morrisville, NY, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.

He was born on April 20,1940 in Oneida, NY, a son of George F. and Dorothy Messinger Fearon and was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School in 1958. Following his graduation from St. Lawrence University in 1962, he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he continued his education at Syracuse University, receiving his master’s degree in Journalism. He was a newscaster on the radio station WOUR before starting his career with the Social Security Administration in Batavia until retiring.

George was a member of the Morrisville Community Church. He was a member of the Morrisville Village Planning Board and donated his time and funds to the Madison Hall restoration.

George is survived by his sister, Ann F. Stevens of Watertown; several nieces, nephews and cousins in Central NY, Michigan and Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home,31 Cedar St., Morrisville, followed by interment in the Stockbridge Valley Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2pm prior to the service.
