Georgia Petroff

Georgia S. Petroff, 84, of Skyline Dr., Morrisville, NY passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at her home.
She was born September 16, 1927 in Syracuse, a daughter of Albert L. and Julia VanTassel Smith. Georgia graduated from Chittenango High School and received her R.N. degree from SUNY, Morrisville. She began her nursing career at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Following that she worked at the Gerrit Smith Infirmary in Eaton, and later in the skilled nursing facility at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich until her retirement. On July 29, 1949, Georgia married Theodore “Ted” Petroff in Syracuse. They made their home in Syracuse until moving to Morrisville in 1970. Ted predeceased her on August 20, 1994.
Surviving are her children, Douglas Petroff of Carthage; David Petroff of Morrisville; Dale and Sandra Petroff of Cazenovia; and two grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas Petroff, both of Cazenovia.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in the Morrisville Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
