Harriet S. Collins, 78, of Union St., Oneida, NY passed away Friday, November 06, 2015 at her home.
She was born January 18, 1937 in Rome, NY, a daughter of Frederic and Harriet Sheppard Sprague. She was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School and had attended Mohawk Valley Community College and SUNY, Morrisville. She was a Seabee in the Naval Reserves for 12 years. Harriet married Arthur M. Collins on January 20, 1985 in Wampsville, NY. She had worked at the Madison County Real Property office in Wampsville for 15 years, and then for a short time at the USDA in Marcy and Hamilton.
Harriet loved to travel, and always accompanied her husband to marathon races. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and watching her favorite TV show, NCIS. She loved her cats, Smokey and Shadow.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Art; her children, James F. and Mary McManus of Houston, TX; Patrick A. McManus of Canastota; Brian A. and Cindy Collins of Charlotte, NC; Matthew C. and Jennifer Collins of St. Louis, MO; Timothy Collins and his fiancée, Kim Brower of Willow Springs, MO; her grandchildren, Mark and his wife, Samantha McManus, Shane McManus, Jessie, Justin and Kyra Collins; and a sister, Margaret Killmon of Chelmsford, MA.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, followed by interment in the Eaton Village Cemetery, Eaton, NY.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7pm.
