Harry Schenk

Harry E. Schenk, 75, of Brooklyn St., Eaton, NY, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
He was born August 24, 1939 in Augusta, a son of Ernest and Rose Yost Schenk and received his education in Knoxboro and Madison schools. On March 18, 1958, Harry married Joelene “Dolly” Baker in Deansboro. He worked for J.Z. Construction of Oneida, and later for C.C.I. Construction in Canastota until his retirement. He was a talented carpenter who loved his home shop where he spent many hours woodworking. He enjoyed playing cards, cutting wood and spending time on his Bobcat. He loved mowing lawns, not only his own, but his family’s as well, and turned pastures into lawns.
Surviving are his wife, “Dolly”; his children, Christine and Darrell Griff, Harry, Jr. and Colleen Schenk, all of Hamilton; Karol and Michael Maine of Madison; Karen Schenk of Liverpool; Maril Warner of Portland, OR; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Rocco Altmero of Canastota; Ruth and Robert Jacobs of Chittenango; Kathleen and John Magyes or Portland, OR; Bonnie and Dan Sullivan of Canastota; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred Schenk of Vernon Center; Ben and Irene Schenk of Sherrill; William and Beaetta Schenk of Canastota; Mildred Schenk of Bouckville; and Jean Schenk of Madison; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Ernest Charles, John, Edward and Harold Schenk; and a sister, Olga Schenk.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1-4pm Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Kelley Phillips American Legion Post #569 in Oriskany Falls.
Friends may call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville on Wednesday, June 3, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to PSP (your local Parkinsons Assoc.)
