Howard C. Boise

Howard C. Boise, 80, lifelong resident of Sherburne, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Albany Medical Center.
He was born December 22, 1940 in Sangerfield, NY, a son of the late Charles H. and Grace Hill Boise and received his education in Sherburne schools. Howard left school to work for his father at the Boise Oil Co., and then worked for Norwich Homes. He later worked for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Lands and Forest in Sherburne for 35 years as a mechanic and truck driver until retiring in 1995 at the age of 55. Following that, he worked for Whitney Palmiter on the farm that had once been the Van Swan farm where he started as a boy driving tractors at 10 years old. He always loved the farm. On April 11, 1959, Howard married Elizabeth “Susie” Llewellyn in Sherburne and they shared a blessed and loving union of over 61 years. Howard was an avid hunter, motorcycle enthusiast and beekeeper. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone who needed one. His constant smile would light up a room.
Howard was a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), Erie Canal Chapter; the Binghamton Southern Tier Harley Group and the Sons of the American Legion Post #876 of Sherburne.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Susie; his children, Howard C. “Chuck” (Barbara) Boise, Jr. of Sherburne; and Candy Boise of Norwich; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrey) Boise, Brooke (Greg) Donohue, Jeramie (Karina) Barber, Dustin (Sarah) Genter; great-grandchildren, Jaiden and Finnley Donohue and Valentina Boise. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother Douglas Boise.
Services will be held at a later date with interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
