Jane Slade Duquette, 96, formerly of Sherburne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville, NY.
She was born May 18, 1922 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the daughter of Oscar and Louise Spencer Slade. Jane was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School and Plattsburg State Teachers College. She had been a 4th grade teacher at Sherburne-Earlville Central School until retiring in 1980. After retiring she enjoyed spending winters in Florida and socializing with her many friends. Jane was married to Robert “Duke” Duquette who predeceased her in June 1992.
Surviving are two daughters, JoAnne (Robert) York of Sebastian, FL; Barbara “Bobbi” (Stephen) Ashton of Sherburne; grandchildren, Kimberly York Eke and Jared York, Shane and Erin Ashton; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, Robert Michael, in 1947 and her sister Sally Robinson.
Memorial services, followed by interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, will be held at 11am Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY.
