Jo Anne Pagano

Jo Anne Pagano of Madison, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
Jo Anne earned her PhD from the University of Rochester, and joined the Colgate University faculty in 1981 as a professor of Educational Studies. Her mission to illuminate the art of teaching and the meaning of education underscored Jo Anne’s commitment to teaching and scholarship. Jo Anne made a significant impact in the educational community through her teaching and writing.
Jo Anne was passionate about reading, films, pop culture, and her family and pets. She embraced friends as family, doted on her step-children and grand children, and will be remembered and missed deeply by all.
Jo Anne was pre-deceased by her husband, Bruce Peter Berlind, also Colgate faculty, Charles A. Dana Professor of English Emeritus, who died on November 1, 2014. She is survived by five step-children, a sister, and a brother.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3-6pm Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Merrill House, Colgate University, Hamilton.
Interment will be in the Colgate Cemetery.
