Joseph Sulton, 80, of Humphrey Rd., Earlville, NY, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich.
He was born on September 28, 1942 in Huntington, LI, a son of the late Ali and Regina Wall Sulton. He was a graduate of East Northport, LI High School and attended Suffolk Community College. On October 1, 1963, Joseph was united in marriage to Bridget Mary O’Campo in Huntington, LI. Joe was a designer/draftsman for Dielectric Laboratories; Grumman Aerospace in Farmingdale, LI. Moving to the Earlville area, he worked for T.A.C.O. in Sherburne and then the Pennysaver in Norwich.
He was a communicant and a very active member of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne where he was a trustee and the sexton of St. Malachy’s Parish Cemetery for many years. He also volunteered at the Food Pantry and for many of the parish activities over the years.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Bridget; his children, Joseph A. and Donna Sulton of NC; Gary C. Sulton, Michael J. and Diane Sulton, all of Earlville; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas A. Sulton; and two brothers, Ali and Ahmed Sulton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30PM Friday, November 18, 2022 at St. Malachy’s Church, East State St., Sherburne, with interment in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
