Judith Anne (O’Connor) Woodard, 78, of Somers, NY, formerly of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY, with her family by her side. She was born on September 22, 1943, in Sherburne, NY, a daughter of the late Edward H. and Alice Braks O’Connor. She was a graduate of the Sherburne-Earlville School System. Thereafter, she attended the College of New Rochelle, obtaining Bachelor of Arts degrees in both French and Spanish; and then the University of Wisconsin, obtaining a Master of Arts in Education. Judith then did post-graduate work at the University of Paris in France, and simultaneously worked and traveled the world as a flight attendant for Air France. For the vast majority of her career, Judith taught and tutored languages – French and Spanish – to high school students in the Syracuse City School System, until her retirement. Judith loved passionately her children, languages, and to travel. She also had the sweetest of sweet tooths. During her youth, she was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, in Sherburne, NY, and later of St. Ann’s Parish in Syracuse, NY.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter: Brendan and Lisa (Andriello) Woodard of Cape May, NJ.; Matthew and Denise (Egolf) Woodard of Armonk, NY; Noelle and Alex Rodriguez of Parsippany, NJ; her grandchildren: Colin, Darren, Morgan; and several nieces.
She was predeceased by her sister Maureen (O’Connor) DeCrups; and two brothers, Edward H. O’Connor, III, and Hubert W. O’Connor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM from St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, 31 E. State St., Sherburne, NY 13460. Internment will follow in St. Malachy’s Parish Cemetery.
