Laura T. Furner, 89, of Chenango St., Earlville, NY, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at her home.
She was born November 4, 1921 in Earlville, a daughter of Lauraence and Carrie Ewing Tarbell and was a graduate of Earlville High School. On May 4, 1939, Laura married Charles F. Furner in Earlville. He predeceased her in 1976. Laura was a cook at the Earlville Nursing Home, and later worked at Cheseborough Ponds in Sherburne until her retirement. She was a member of the former Earlville Episcopal Church.
Surviving are her children, Maris Furner of Earlville; Marcia and Bill Parker of Earlville; Alan “Pat” and Debbie Furner of Manteo, NC; Tim and Jean Furner of Earlville; Charles Furner of Earlville; Lauraence Furner of Earlville; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Linda Wyman and Peggy Zeidner, a son, David C. “Mike” Furner, and a great-grandson, Joshua Liotti.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Interment will be in the Earlville Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 am to 1pm prior to the service.
