Lewis Vernon Graham, Sr.

Lewis was born on January 18, 1943 in Canastota to Vernon Graham and Doris Clark Graham Cook and passed away peacefully at Oneida Healthcare on September 2, 2022. He attended Stockbridge Valley School. He married Janice Dorrance in Peterboro, NY on July 30, 1961. Surviving are his wife Janice, a daughter, Lisa (Robert) Donaldson of Oneida, sons; Lewis Graham, Jr. of Warren, CT, William (Kathy) Graham of Canastota and daughter Julia (Dave) Phillips of Oneida. Also sisters; Christine Zophy, Diane (Francis) Pratt both of Canastota, Debroah West of Wampsville, Belle Russ of Munnsville, Faith Cook of Oneida and Sophie Curtis of Bouckville. Brothers; Gerald Graham of Sylvan Beach, Eugene Graham of Rome and Larry Graham of Chittenango. Also a sister-in-law Sharon Korifa of Deland, FL, grandchildren; Graham Phillips of Peterboro, Scott Graham of Atlanta, GA, Leslie Graham of Astoria, NY and Ben Phillips of London, England. He was predeceased by his father, mother, brothers Robert and Steven Graham and a sister Brenda Moot.

He owned and operated Graham & Sons dairy farm in Peterboro until 1990. He then worked at Worlock Paving and the Town of Lincoln before retiring in December 2007 from the Town of Lincoln. Lewis enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, horseback riding, camping, working in his garden, cutting wood and working with his John Deere tractor.

Lewis was a member of the Smithfield Fire Department, Peterboro Conservation Club, Smithfield Cemetery Association, Smithfield ZBA Board, Peterboro Methodist Church and the former Smithfield Grange.

Friends are welcomed to attend a graveside service which will be held at the Peterboro Cemetery on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
