Nancy Fairbanks Bond

Nancy F. Bond, 86, of Hamilton, NY, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Katherine Luther Home in Clinton. She was born on January 1, 1935, in Lynn, MA, a daughter of the late Gordon and Helen Brackett Stewart, and was a graduate of Ithaca High School. She attended Russell Sage College (RN); Northern Illinois University (Bachelors); Albany Medical (Masters) and SUNY Binghamton (Family Nurse Practitioner). Nancy taught nursing in the Albany area, and later was a Professor of Nursing at SUNY Morrisville until retiring. Along with her teaching career, she also served on the NYS Education Department in Nursing.
Nancy married Robert P. Fairbanks who predeceased her on January 31, 1971. She was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Stewart, in 1991, and her beloved dog, Tammy.
On May 27, 1972, she married Robert D. Bond in Hamilton. Surviving are her husband, Robert; her children, Bradford (Karen) Fairbanks of Santa Fe

NY; Robert (Raelene) Bond of Margaretville, NY; Suzy (Rob) Hunt of Addison, VT; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Nancy loved to teach nursing and thought the world of all her students. She believed in women's liberation and equal rights for all. Beyond her passion for her career, she was an avid swimmer and could often be found running water aerobics classes at the Colgate pool or swimming laps in front of her home on Craine Lake. She loved to paint, travel, and most importantly to socialize with family and friends. Her laugh was infectious, and she will be missed.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess &Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY.
