Olga Risley, 86, of Deansboro, NY passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Waterville Residential Care Center.
She was born on November 12, 1936 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Mike and Mary Karlik Doroshenko, and received her education from the Morrisville-Eaton Central School District. On January 2, 1954, Olga married Donald A. Risley in Madison. He predeceased her on December 22, 2008. Olga was a talented artist and an amazing seamstress, who did alterations from her home. She also enjoyed gardening and baking. She loved all animals dearly, believing that they all deserved a good life.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Mark Peeling of Deansboro; a granddaughter, Dr. Jessica Peeling of South Dakota; a grandson, Donald Pupecki and his wife Gabrielle of Syracuse; a sister, Rosemary Doroshenko of Morrisville; a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Eunice Doroshenko of Morrisville; sister-in-law Dorothy Doroshenko of Morrisville; sister-in-law Florence Risley of Deerfield, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Donald A. Risley, Jr. in 1990, and two brothers, Mike and John Doroshenko.
Graveside services will be held in the Deansboro Cemetery in the late spring.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main Street, Waterville.
Memorial contributions may be made to CPV Rescue & Sanctuary, Clinton, NY, where her cat Pandora was adopted by a loving family.
