Ruth E. Markiewicz

Ruth E. Markiewicz, 83, of Fayette St., Earlville, NY, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
She was born on July 27, 1937 in Port Jervis, NY, a daughter of Albert W. and Iva Eccleston Scheer and was a graduate of Norwich High School. On June 30, 1957, Ruth married Francis E. Markiewicz in Norwich. He predeceased her on February 19, 2010. Ruth had worked at Bennett Ireland in Norwich, Sherwood Medical in Sherburne and then was a CNA at the Gilmour Nursing Home in Norwich until retiring. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Douglas Markiewicz and Joseph (Susan) Markiewicz, of Earlville; and James Markiewicz of Burnham, ME; sisters, Janice Tuskewicz of Sun City, CA; Carol Nesbit of DeRuyter; Georgiana (Jack) Leahy of Pulaski, VA; a brother, Albert (Marlene) Scheer of Oneonta; her twin granddaughters, Amanda and Samantha; two grandsons, Joshua, and Benjamin (Hillary); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Scheer.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours. Interment is private at the convenience of her family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY.
