Sebastiano "Sam" Pagano

Sebastiano “Sam” Pagano of New Hartford, passed away on March 28, 2022 at home.

Sam was born in Francofonte, Sicily in June 1948 to the late Salvatore and Francesca Roccuzzo Pagano. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1966, Sam was married to Catherine Moylan in 1970. Sam’s career included various construction jobs, including with Hogeboom & Campfield and culminating in his eventual retirement from the NYS Department of Transportation Bridge crew.

In addition to his parents, Sam was predeceased by his younger sister, Ilva, parents-in-law, Edward and Gladys Moylan, and sister-in-law, Theresa Moylan Farr. Sam is survived by his wife, Catherine, his daughter, Victoria, and soon to be son-in-law, David Long of California. Sam is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lucia and Gino Borrometi, his brother Antonio Pagano, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sandra Alama, Elizabeth Stanek, Delia Moylan, Richard and Maureen Moylan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

Sam was truly one of a kind. Bold and unapologetic, Sam lived his life on his own terms. He was a ball of fire who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Sam always stood firm in his convictions and fierce in defense of his family and friends. His love and devotion to those he cherished was immeasurable. He will be greatly missed.

According to Sam’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life at Club Monarch on Saturday, April 2^nd from 3-5pm. Please come and help us honor Sam’s memory. Sam’s family offers sincere thanks for the care provided by Hospice and Palliative Care.
