SHARON BERTLESMAN

ORISKANY FALLS: Sharon Bertlesman, 71, of Valley Road, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her home.
She was born June 4, 1948 in Utica, a daughter of Howard and Kathleen Sheley Rahauiser and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Sharon married Robert J. Bertlesman on December 29, 1979 in Kirkland. Sharon was a security dispatcher for Hamilton College until retiring. She was also a volunteer for the Creekside Community Outreach Center in Oriskany Falls, and the Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. She was an amazing person, strong and kind with a great sense of humor. She deeply loved her family who were the light of her life. She made Christmas celebrations unforgettable, especially with her generous and overabundant gifting.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Robert; her children, Bridget and David Kilts of Oriskany Falls; Eric and Laurel Vilardi of GA; her step-children, Kim Matanga and John Bertlesman, both of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister, Nancy Pasciak and Ron McNamara of New Hartford; two brothers, John and Susan Rahauiser of Utica; Dennis Rahauiser and Terry Catchpole of Rome; sixteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved canine companion, Ben; and a step-son, Robert T. Bertlesman.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 4-7pm at the Kelley-Phillips American Legion Post #569, Oriskany Falls.
Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
