Susan Ann Hurd DeSantis, 80, of Cazenovia, died Friday, September 9, 2022 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
She was born February 3, 1942 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of Harold and Edna Green Hurd. They lived in Chaffee, NY. The family moved to North Collins, NY in 1944. Susan graduated from North Collins Central School in 1959 and from the University of Buffalo in 1963 with a BS in Nursing. She married David John DeSantis in 1963 in the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She spent her working career in various nursing venues from teaching, hospital and public health in several health departments. The last 20 years before retirement, she was a Hospice Home Care Nurse. In retirement, she devoted many hours in church work especially at the Earlville United Methodist Church. She was a weaver and enjoyed many other crafts, fishing, gardening and genealogy.
Surviving are her children, Felicia (James) Nicholas of Hamilton, NY and Bryce (Lara) DeSantis of Trumansburg, NY; grandchildren, Cassandra Nicholas of Denmark; Jessica Nicholas of Hamilton; Conor and Rowan DeSantis of Trumansburg.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be private at the Markhams Cemetery, S. Dayton, NY
