Theodore R. “Teddy” Unger, 76 of Earlville Rd., Earlville, NY, passed away on Thursday. September 9, 2021. He was born April 10, 1945, in Norwich, a son of the late Ivan R. and Elizabeth Rounds Unger. He graduated from Hamilton High School at the early age of 16. He served his country in the US Army from 1963 to 1965 attaining the rank of SP4, as a heavy equipment operator in the 588th Engineering Battalion, Company C, Fort Lee, VA. He was the owner/operator of Unger Livestock. The movement, buying and selling of cattle was Teddy’s life. He truly enjoyed it and never thought about giving it up. He was also a Yankees Baseball fan, but most of all the biggest love was his family and the times they all shared together. He was a member and supporter of The American Legion of Canastota, NY Post # 140.
Surviving are his children; Tammie and Brian Schwarting of Earlville, Timothy and Lisa Unger of Tennessee, Tina and Allen Bergeron of Eaton, Tara and Shawn Ashton of Earlville, Tanya and Steve Tworkowski of Connecticut, Thomas Unger of Earlville, Theodore “Teddy” and Brittany Unger, II of Earlville; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Lori Unger of Earlville; sister, Deborah Burnap of Florida; 23 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward I. Unger; two sisters, Joyce Demmon and Patricia Drown.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family, followed by interment with Military Honors in Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville.
