Timothy D. Ray

Timothy D. Ray, 66, of Sherburne, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich. He was born on July 10, 1956 in Delhi, NY, a son of the late Lindon H. and Thelma E. McIntyre Ray and graduated from Sherburne-Earlville High School. On July 12, 1974, in South Brookfield, Timothy was united in marriage to Melinda J. Schlernitzauer, whom he lovingly referred to as "my girl".

In his earlier years he worked for Standard Brands Pet Foods, Sherburne; Alpo Pet Foods, PA. and for his brother at Bob’s Auto Sales, West Winfield and Crandall’s Used Cars, Sherburne as a mechanic. Later in life Tim owned and operated T & M Auto Sales in Sherburne until his retirement. Tim enjoyed classic cars, going to car shows, cruise-ins and traveling.

Surviving is his wife; Melinda, a daughter; Nicole Ray of Sherburne, a son and daughter-in-law; Jason and Amber Ray of Sherburne, his grandchildren; Meako Ray (Norman), Kierra and Brandon Lambert, Brenik Gould, Aspen Weckworth, Timothy and Adelyn Ray, his

great-grandchildren; Izona and Waylon, his mother-in-law; Cynthia (Charles) Frair of Sherburne, a sister and brother-in-law; Penny and Jim Beckert of South New Berlin, a brother; Robert Ray on West Winfield, two sisters-in-law; Lorri Ray of Lebanon,

Judy Ray of Sherburne, also surviving is his good friend who was like a brother to him; Bob Collins of Sherburne and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

He was predeceased by two brothers; Ronald and Thomas Ray, a sister; Pamela Ray, and a sister-in-law, Helen Ray.

Services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM from the Columbus Community Church, NY-80, New Berlin, NY 13411.

Interment will follow in South Brookfield Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call at the church on Thursday from

11 AM to 1 PM, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy may be given in memory of Tim with a monetary donation toward final expenses

or to the charity of one’s choice. Envelopes will be available at church or addressed to 575 Furman Mills Rd. Sherburne, NY 13460 in care of Jason Ray.
