Virginia C. Brooks 76, of Eaton NY passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at her home. Virginia was born in Oneida Hospital on October 4, 1944 to Donald and Flora (Harvey) Church. She has 5 siblings; Irene, Sharon, Arlene, Jim and Roy and their families. Arlene predeceased her.
Ginny graduated from Morrisville-Eaton Central School. She later attended CCBI and Plus Calculator & Keypunch Schools.
Virginia married William Brooks, Sr. on April 4, 1964, and they began their family of four at their dairy farm in Peterboro. Their children are Julia (Tom) Matthews and 4 children; William Brooks, Jr. (Tina) and 2 children; Verna (Tim) Kent and 3 children; Joseph (Claudia) Brooks and 2 children and, a number of great-grand-children from these blessings.
Virginia began her career at the Oneida City Hospital Extended Care where she obtained her Nurses’ Aid Training Certificate and worked for two years. She then spent 8 years working first as a Nurses’ Aid and then a Ward Clerk at the Madison County Gerrit Smith Infirmary in Eaton. Ginny spent the remainder of her 37 ½ years of service to Madison County working at the Mental Health Department in Wampsville.
Ginny was an active member of the Al-Anon family groups for 25+ years.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. The family may do an invitational gathering at a later date at their convenience.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, NY.
