William J. Eggleston

William J. “Bill” Eggleston, 81, of Brookins Rd., Smyrna, NY, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Cooperstown Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
He was born on September 11, 1939 in German, NY, a son of Lawrence and Minnie Nelson Eggleston and was a graduate of Norwich High School. On September 23, 1967, Bill married Marion E. Jaycox in Norwich, and they shared a loving union of over 46 years until she predeceased him on February 14, 2014. Bill was a receiving clerk at Proctor & Gamble in Norwich for 45 years until retiring. Following that, he worked at Price Chopper giving out Super Samples. Bill’s favorite pastime was playing his piano.
Surviving are his children, Wayne and Penny Eggleston; Scott Eggleston; and Tammy Powell, all of Smyrna; a sister, Loretta Kaufinger of FL; his grandchildren, Alicia, Spencer, Addison and Luke; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Conant, and a brother, Silas Eggleston.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Friday, June 25, from 5-7pm.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
