William W. Larkin

William W. Larkin, Jr., 95, of Furman Mills Rd., Sherburne, NY, formerly of Brookfield, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019. He was born September 8, 1923 in Brookfield, NY, the oldest child of William W., Sr. and Ruth Hodges Larkin; and received his education at Brookfield Central Schools. He worked at Conklin-Rogers Construction, Earlville, NY; and was a dairy farmer on the family farm, William Larkin & Sons Dairy, in the Town of Brookfield, NY until retiring. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Madison County Fair, serving as Vice President;President; and eventually honored as a 50+ Year Life Member. He was also a member of the Hubbardsville Fish & Game Club, and the Hubbardsville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. William was an avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed Blue Mountain Lake, and their primitive hunting camp on the Blue Ridge; enjoyed snowmobiling; gardening and his rosebushes; and especially loved pecan pie. To those who knew him, he was a quiet, gentle, and patient man, who led by example.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, James C. and Bonnie Larkin, Grove City, PA; nieces and nephews, Sherry (Gene) Pegnetter, Murphy, NC; Elaine (Bob) Lewis, Nashville, TN;Jennifer (Matt) Kratzer, Moravia, NY; and a special nephew, Jeffrey (Stacy) Larkin of Cortland,NY. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Gilbert; and his two brothers,Kenneth W. and F. Alan Larkin.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of his family in the Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville, NY.
